Gavels and Tiaras

Over the course of the year, we'll keep you up to date when our students make headlines (for good reasons only, we hope!). One of our students, Valerie Lynch '07, was recently in the news as a competitor in the Miss Illinois pageant. Val has managed to mesh her outside interest in pageant competition with her work at the law school seamlessly. Her platform as a contestant involves increasing awareness of issues of mental health. Val is an active participant in the Law School's Mental Health Advocacy Project in the Mandel Legal Aid Clinic, as well as being very involved in the Law School's Student Admissions Committee.
