Welcome aboard the good ship we've christened "The University of Chicago Law School Electronic Projects Blog." We in the Communications department of the Law School are launching this blog with three goals in mind:
1) to keep the Law School community informed about the School's ongoing efforts and initiatives in electronic communications ("Hey, look what we're doing!")
2) to get feedback from the Law School community about those efforts and initiatives ("What do you think we should be doing?")
3) to serve as a discussion space for larger issues of the use of technology in legal research and education ("How can we be doing these things better/more efficiently? What can we learn from what other universities/law schools are doing?")
As Manager of Electronic Communications here at the Law School, I'll be steering this boat most of the time; however, we do hope to have contributions from the Library, the IT department, and others as time goes on. In the coming weeks you can expect to see posts related to the upcoming www.law.uchicago.edu site redesign, tips on how technology can aid your educational goals, links to relevant articles and websites, and... well, you'll just have to come back and see for yourself.
So with that, consider this blog officially launched. Now if I could just get the debris from the broken champagne bottle out of my keyboard...
